At Casey Teson Basketball Academy, I teach the game in a way that feels real and personal. I’ve seen players from Saint Peter's find new confidence the moment their skills start to click, and it changes how they walk into the gym and how they carry themselves in life. I want that for your athlete, too. That’s the heart of true basketball coaching, the kind that builds character as much as skill.
I coach with patience, heart, and a clear plan that fits each player. Whether your child dreams of making the team or sharpening skills for bigger goals, I guide them step by step. With focused basketball coaching that meets them where they are, they’ll grow stronger, smarter, and more confident both on and off the court, and you’ll feel proud watching them rise.

The feedback we get from families means a lot, and we’re grateful for every kind word shared with us. Check out the beautiful things people have to say about us:
These one-hour and fifteen-minute sessions build a full range of basketball skills. Players work through game-like situations, get shooting guidance, ball handling drills, finishing moves, ball screen work, and other focused skill training.
Group workouts run as a 10-week academy, offered once a week for $345 or twice a week for $545.

We keep this process easy from the first hello, so you and your athlete feel relaxed and supported every step of the way. Here’s how everything works with zero stress on your end.

Most kids can start learning fundamental basketball skills as early as age seven. At that age, a basketball training session focuses on simple ball handling, footwork, and fun basketball drills that help kids enjoy the sport while picking up good habits. As they grow, we add more individual skills like passing, defense, and layups so they feel confident on the court. Every child moves at their own pace, and our basketball trainer adjusts things based on their age and comfort.
Yes, we work with complete beginner players all the time. We start slow, keep things fun, and teach fundamentals like stance, ball control, proper shooting form, and how to move with a purpose. Beginners learn how to play the game the right way through simple drills, short games, and easy decision-making activities that build confidence. Many of our youth players from places like Jefferson City and the surrounding parts of Missouri begin with no experience at all.
Absolutely. Advanced players sharpen their basketball IQ, footwork, scoring moves, defense, and tougher basketball drills that look like real game situations. We break down details that serious players, including those aiming for high school, college, or even dreaming of becoming a professional basketball player, need to master. We cover things like reading the team defense, using angles, passing under pressure, and creating space. Advanced players also love working on new drills that challenge their speed, physical strength, and decision-making.
A typical basketball training session lasts about 45–60 minutes. That gives players enough time for footwork, shooting, ball handling, drills, and some game-like practice without feeling rushed. When we run longer sessions, like during basketball camps in the fall or summer, we mix in more fun camp challenges, team games, and extra reps to help kids develop faster.
Training two to three times a week is usually the sweet spot. It allows players to work hard, learn fundamentals, and then rest enough to absorb the skills. Whether your athlete wants to make a high school roster, get ready for USA Basketball events, improve for the next season, or simply get better for fun, steady training makes a big difference. More sessions help players build consistency, especially if they’re learning new movements or preparing for tryouts.
Definitely. We teach the basketball skills coaches look for: strong footwork, confident layups, good spacing, smart decision making, and how to stay calm under pressure. We use basketball drills that mirror real tryout situations so players know what to expect. Whether they want to shine in youth leagues, girls' or boys' programs, or aim higher toward college play, we help them stand out by focusing on the key things coaches watch for.
Yes, we offer both. Private sessions give more personal attention, perfect for learning tricky scoring moves, building basketball IQ, or fixing shooting form. Group sessions feel more like a mini-camp, with athletes learning teamwork, communication, and how to react quickly during game situations. Both options help players of all skill levels, whether they're just starting or preparing for bigger goals like varsity spots or even dreaming of the NBA one day.
All they need is a ball, good shoes, water, and a positive attitude. We bring the rest, the structure, the resources, the drills, and the coaching. If your player already knows their position, we help them sharpen those skills ,too. No matter what, we make sure every athlete feels ready, supported, and excited to join the workout.

Getting your athlete this level of basketball training is an investment that keeps giving back. You’ll see them play harder, think smarter, and carry themselves with pride.
